The 5 best sleep nursing bras for large breasts

Large-breasted mamas need ‘busty range’ nursing bras because we have distinct needs that ‘normal’ nursing bras don’t provide for.

Among other things, we think about back pain, under-boob rash and breast-spillage. We also dream of having a good night’s sleep. In fact, sleep can be affected during pregnancy itself. That’s why a comfy maternity sleep bra is important.

Our babies might be a deterrent at the moment but let not sleep bras be the cause of our night awakenings.

These are the best and only sleep bras I recommend for large-breasted moms:

Best overall sleep bra: Kindred Bravely Extra Soft Organic Cotton Busty Nursing Sleep Bra

Check it out on Amazon

Why I love the KB Organic Cotton Sleep Bra

  • Designed specifically for E cups and above. Sizes go up to XX-large (42I)
  • made of super-soft organic cotton – great for when you’re recovering from surgery or have skin sensitivities
  • the organic material is also more comfy and safer for babies to nuzzle into
  • expanded fabrics in the cup for additional coverage
  • longer straps to fit larger breasts – great for moms with a longer torso or taller frame
  • Good value-for-money

What I don’t like about it

  • breasts can fall out if you’re a side sleeper
  • cup sizes run big
  • material can stretch over time – wash in a lingerie bag on delicate setting

Who is it for?

All moms. Who wouldn’t want a softer, safer nursing bra for themselves and their babies?

Best cotton sleep bra: Motherhood Maternity Wrap Front Nursing Sleep Bra

Check it out on Amazon

Why I love the MM Wrap Front Sleep Bra

  • Sizes go up to 46DDD
  • breathable, soft cotton bras are always lovely to wear, especially on hot summer nights
  • soft elastic under-bust band that doesn’t dig in
  • one of the most popular nursing bras on Amazon with >1000 5-star ratings
  • robust – can stand rough handling and machine tumble dries
  • good value-for-money
  • you can try it for free on Amazon Prime Wardrobe

What I don’t like about it

  • not adjustable
  • straps can be too short if you have a taller frame
  • armholes on the small side, not recommended if you have bigger arms
  • sizing not consistent

Who is it for?

Best suited for moms with ‘not-too-large’ breasts and a shorter/average frame

Best bamboo sleep bra: Kindred Bravely French Terry Racerback Busty Nursing Sleep Bra

Check it out on Amazon

Why I love the KB French Terry Sleep Bra

  • Designed specifically for E cup and above. Fits up to size 42I
  • made of heavenly soft and breathable bamboo rayon
  • expanded fabrics in the cup for additional coverage
  • longer straps to fit larger breasts – great for moms with a longer torso or taller frame
  • Good value-for-money
  • Mom’s Choice Award winner
  • > 1000 5-star ratings on Amazon
  • not a fan of pink camo? Don’t worry, it comes in 5 other neutral colors
  • This has a racerback design. There is also a scoopback version.

What I don’t like about it

  • Boobs can fall out during sleep, especially if you are a side sleeper
  • fabric stretches with washing – make sure it’s in a garment bag and washed on delicate setting

Who is it for?

Moms with taller frames and bamboo fans

Best sleep bra for side sleepers: Cake Maternity Sugar Candy Nursing Bralette

Check it out on Amazon

Why I love the CM Sugar Candy Nursing Bralette

  • great for side sleepers. You girls don’t do well with front wrap bras as they let your boobs out when you sleep on your side.
  • specifically designed for F cup and above. Fits up to H cup.
  • unbelievably soft
  • heat-molded cups to prevent uni-boob
  • has double layers and knitted rib panels- it’s supportive enough that you can wear it in the day as well
  • has 2 inner slings (rather than the usual 1) – one to stop drooping and another to stop your boobs from moving laterally
  • made of moisture-wicking fabric
  • adjustable with 6 hook and eye options
  • OEKO-TEX certified to be free from harmful toxins

What I don’t like about it

  • drop down cups – not as convenient as a pull-aside flap
  • on the pricier side

Who is it for?

Moms who move about a lot in their sleep and side-sleepers

Best budget sleep bra: HOFISH Full Bust Nursing Bra

Check it out on Amazon

Why I love the HOFISH Nursing Bra

  • super affordable – you get 3-in-a-pack for the price of one
  • adjustable and comes with bra extenders
  • removable foam cups – you don’t need foam cups to sleep in and they are much more comfy without
  • number 1 best seller on Amazon with >18,000 5-star ratings!!

What I don’t like about it

  • only fits up to size DD
  • sizes run small
  • drop down cups – not as convenient as pull-aside flaps
  • thin straps

Who is it for?

Moms on a budget

*To be honest, I’m not a fan of budget nursing bras. I think it’s worth paying for a better quality bra that will be more comfortable and last longer. But, I understand money can be tight. If you’re on a budget, the HOFISH Nursing Bra is probably the only budget sleep bra I would recommend.

To wrap up

Both the Kindred Bravely Organic Cotton Bra and the Bamboo French Terry Bra are affordable and wonderfully soft wrap-front sleep bras. If you move about a lot or sleep on your side, your best bet is the Cake Maternity Sugar Candy Bralette which can double up as an every-day bra.
